The field of cardiology is rapidly evolving in all of its subspecialty areas. Technology is changing equally fast. The Cardiovascular Summit 2023 will highlight information and state-of-the- art updates essential for any health care professional that is part of the extensive team that engages in every aspect of cardiac care.

The primary objective is to present well-rounded and in-depth information, as well as advancements in cardiology. Focused topics for the day are divided into sections: Interventional, Imaging, Advanced Heart Failure, and EP. Within each section, specialists will delve into information including clinical trials, management of venous and arterial disease, structural case presentations, imaging of the athletic heart, Computed Tomography in the role of coronary work up for chest pain, heart failure with preserved EF, management of atrial fibrillation and a multidisciplinary approach to complex electrophysiology conditions.

Join us for a day of education and explore modern concepts in cardiovascular care.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based course pharmacists should be able to:

  1. Discuss the top 3 clinical trials in interventional cardiology in the year 2022
  2. Recognize the importance of diagnosis and treatment of peripheral artery disease
  3. Discuss the top 3 clinical trials in cardiovascular imaging in the year 2022
  4. Discuss the basics in imaging and management of athletes’ heart
  5. Define the role of coronary CT in the work up of patients who present to the ER with chest pain
  6. Discuss the top 3 clinical trials in heart failure in the year 2022
  7. Review the basics of pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
  8. Define the criteria for use of advanced mechanical circulatory support for cardiogenic shock from a surgical standpoint
  9. Discuss the top 3 clinical trials in cardiac electrophysiology in the year 2022
  10. Review case examples of patients with complex electrophysiology conditions and our approach to management
