A review of IDSA guidance for the treatment of infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii and supporting literature.

Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this application-based course pharmacists should be able to:

  1. Describe mechanisms of resistance exhibited by Acinetobacter baumannii

  2. Identify antimicrobial agents with potential utility in the treatment of infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii

  3. Apply the Infectious Diseases Society of America's (IDSA) 2022 antimicrobial resistance guidance to design an appropriate regimen for the treatment of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii
