Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy announces its next Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
Caroline Sierra, PharmD, BCPPS, is a board-certified pediatric pharmacy specialist who originally joined the school’s faculty in 2016 and has since risen through the ranks to Associate Professor. She has also served as the coordinator for LLUH’s Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency and the Residency Program Director for the Post Graduate Year 2 (PGY2) Pediatric Pharmacy residency program. Dr. Sierra is an active member and leader in the state and local affiliate chapters of the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP).
“Dr. Sierra is an exceptional educator, clinician, and researcher,” said Kyle M. Sousa, PhD, dean of LLU School of Pharmacy. “I am delighted to have her as part of our executive leadership team.”
In her new role, Sierra will oversee the Office of Academic Affairs unit and provide operational and administrative oversight for the school in academic planning and scheduling, registration, remediation, progression, curricular and programmatic development, assessment of student learning outcomes, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Sierra says she is honored to step into this role. “I look forward to collaborating with our exceptional students, staff, and faculty to foster innovation and excellence,” Sierra said.
