Department of Pharmacy Practice

The vision of the Department of Pharmacy Practice is to provide an outstanding education to our students and residents, to further our profession by engaging in scholarly activities and professional organizations, and to contribute to the health of the patients and communities we serve.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice contributes significantly to the didactic and experiential education of our students. Our department faculty members are responsible for coordinating 41 courses. These courses are offered within the School of Pharmacy and other schools within Loma Linda University (LLU).  In addition to School of Pharmacy, our faculty members teach in the LLU Schools of Dentistry, Nursing, and Allied Health Professions. The past year has also been productive in terms of scholarly activities. Our faculty members have had 27 posters and 16 manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters acceptedfor publication. In the area of service, our faculty members serve patients in ambulatory care and acute care settings, both within and outside LLU Health. The department offers several diverse specialties, including infectious diseases, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, respiratory, neurology, psychiatry, internal medicine, critical care, and pediatrics. In addition to participating in teaching, service andscholarly activities, faculty members are responsible for mentoring Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience students, PGY1 and PGY2 residents, and fellows. Additionally, our faculty provide guidance and mentorship to students during numerous community outreach events and other service activities throughout the year.
