Ways to PharmD

Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy has partnered with the Southern Adventist University to help prospective students make a seamless transition into the PharmD program. Courses that meet our prerequisite requirements are listed below.

Students who graduate from a partnering academic institution and meet all of the requirements listed in the articulation agreement and have a successful interview will be offered a seat in our PharmD program.

Applicants without a bachelor’s degree

Applicants without a bachelor's degree must complete additional courses in the following areas:

English Composition

*6 semester or 9 quarter hours of English Composition

This should be the freshman composition sequence. Remedial English and English as a Second Language (ESL) course are not acceptable to fulfill this requirement. English courses must be taken from the English Department.

Humanities/Fine Arts

*12 semester or 16 quarter hours of Humanities/Fine Arts

Recommended areas include literature, philosophy, history, ethics, foreign language, art history, or music history. Studio or performance classes in art and music are not acceptable.

Social and Behavioral Sciences

*12 semester or 16 quarter hours of Social and Behavioral Sciences

Recommend areas include cultural diversity, anthropology, psychology, psychobiology, economics, political science, geography, and sociology. 

Advanced Placement (AP) Credit

AP credit will be accepted as fulfilling the first quarter/semester of any prerequisite sequence.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Credit

CLEP credit will not be accepted to fulfill any of the prerequisite courses. 

Distance and Online Courses

We accept online credits in cases other than emergency.
