Pharmacy Practice Residency - Research Projects
Goal
To provide the resident with the experience of developing, conducting, and presenting a formal piece of research.
Objectives
- To identify and select a project and preceptor by the established deadline
- To submit a written project proposal according to the established deadlines
- To obtain IRB approval from the appropriate institution(s)
- To complete the project according to the established timeline
- To present the completed project to the faculty, staff, and other residents
- To present the completed project at a state or national pharmacy meeting
- To publish the project results (optional, but highly encouraged)

- October – November – Complete the IRB approval process
- December – March – Complete data collection
- February – Submit abstract to Western States Residency Conference
- April – Present completed project to faculty, staff, students, residents
- May – Present completed project at Western States Conference
- June – Prepare manuscript in complete format for publication in a journal and submit to the Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice
