Joseph Azurin, a P4 student at LLUSP, attended the IPSF World Congress in Incheon, South Korea last month. The global conference brings together student pharmacists from around the world. The conference included a General Assembly in which each country was allowed up to three representatives to vote on different elected positions and policies regarding international pharmacy for students. Joseph served as one of the three official delegates representing the United States in the assembly.

He also participated in two international competitions at the congress, specifically the Traditional Patient Counseling Competition and the Advanced Clinical Skills Competition. All competitions included students from different countries; Joseph was the only student from the US. He placed first in the Traditional Patient Counseling Competition and finished in the top five for the Advanced Clinical Skills Competition!

Joseph says he joined the IPSF Pan American Regional Office (IPSF PARO) Clinical Skills Competition back in May and they just released the results. "This competition spans participants from North, Central and South America and I'm happy to announce that I won First place! This is such an honor for me to represent APhA at the international level again," he said.

Way to go, Joseph!  Thank you for representing LLUSP so well across the globe!
