
In recognition of his significant impact on community service and his outstanding contribution to the academic pursuits of our school and the institution, Dr. Khaled Bahjri received the LLUSP Community Service Award at Commencement.
Dr. Bahjri joined LLUSP in March 2018 as Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical & Administrative Sciences. Dr. Bahjri earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1999 at Fatima College of Medicine in Manila, Philippines. A few years later, his pursuit for further studies in public health led him to Loma Linda University, where he earned a master’s degree and then a doctorate degree in public health. Since joining the school, Dr. Bahjri has been a leader in many areas, consistently demonstrating the values of Loma Linda University, particularly in leadership and commitment to community service.
Dr. Bahjri’s dedication to community engagement is evident through his role as a member of the University’s Center for Understanding World Religions Administrative Committee. Additionally, as President of the Muslim American Society (Greater Los Angeles Chapter) and co-founder and former board member of the Islamic Community Center of Redlands, he continues to be a prominent leader in his local faith community. Through his efforts, he educates and advises the university community, fostering a greater understanding of diverse perspectives.
