Nithya Abraham, PharmD

Dr. Nithya Abraham was born in India but spent the majority of her formative years in Southern California. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. She then returned to California to complete her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Loma Linda University. Her professional interests include internal medicine and cardiology. As an alumnus, Nithya is excited to have the opportunity to continue her training at LLUH and looks forward to mentoring students. Outside of pharmacy, Nithya enjoys playing racquetball with her husband, spending time with her family, discovering vegetarian restaurants, and traveling.

Ashley Jackson, PharmD

Ashley Jackson, PharmD

Dr. Ashley Jackson was born and raised in Pawtucket, RI. She completed a 6 year Pharm.D program at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy. Her clinical interests include Critical Care and Emergency Medicine. She looks forward to working closely and mentoring pharmacy students. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys running, biking, swimming, hiking, and exploring California. She also enjoys learning new languages.

Dr. Farrnam Kachouei was born and raised locally in the Inland Empire. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of California, Riverside. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Western University of Health Sciences. Her professional interests include critical care and academia. She looks forward to precepting students and hopes to be a positive influence in their academic career. Dr. Kachouei is incredibly grateful and excited for the opportunity to grow personally and professionally at Loma Linda University Health in the upcoming year. In her free time, she loves adventure, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Gurinder Kaur, PharmD

Gurinder Kaur, PharmD

Dr. Gurinder Kaur was born in Punjab, India and grew up primarily in Modesto, CA. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Psychology at the University of California, San Diego. She then moved to Hawaii to pursue her Doctor of Pharmacy at the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy-University of Hawaii at Hilo. Her clinical interests include critical care, ambulatory care, and psychiatry. She hopes to inspire and empower others to become effective leaders by demonstrating perseverance, positivity, and humility. In her free time, Gurinder enjoys running, hiking, going to the beach, spending time with family, and traveling.

Samantha Kim, PharmD

Samantha Kim, PharmD

 Dr. Samantha Kim was born and raised in Encinitas, California. She is a proud bruin and completed her biology degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her PharmD degree from the University of California, San Diego and her clinical interests include both critical care and pediatrics. She enjoys all things Southern California related: swimming, hiking, running, tennis, and photography.

Dr. Andy Lyuh grew up in Hacienda Heights, California and attended the University of California, San Diego and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He then moved to Utah and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Utah, College of Pharmacy. His current interests are ambulatory care, pharmacy administration, and internal medicine. He plans to pursue a PGY-2, become board certified, and become an adjunct professor while practicing clinically. Outside of pharmacy, his hobbies are to play basketball (go Lakers!), football (go Rams!), fish, golf, spend time with my wife (go Chris!), family and friends.

Dr. Elizabeth Nam was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Fontana, California. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California, School of Pharmacy. Her professional interests include emergency medicine and critical care. Outside of pharmacy, Elizabeth enjoys skiing, swimming, scuba diving, eating, shopping, interior decoration, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Rachel Ryu, PharmD

Rachel Ryu, PharmD

Dr. Rachel Ryu is the PGY-2 Cardiology Pharmacy Resident at Loma Linda University Health. She was born and raised in Torrance/South Bay, California. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Rhode Island, College of Pharmacy (6-year accelerated PharmD). Dr. Ryu completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Loma Linda University Health and obtained a teaching certificate through the school of pharmacy. Upon the completion of her PGY-2, she hopes to work as a cardiology pharmacy specialist with an academic focus, or as a full-time faculty member within a school of pharmacy. Her dream career involves working directly with patients to optimize patient care outcomes, being involved with pharmacy students in their didactic and experiential education, and making contributions to healthcare literature through research. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking/biking along the beach shore, hiking, exploring new places, trying new foods, making meaningful conversation, and laughing until her stomach hurts.

Sharon Jung, PharmD

Dr. Sharon Jung completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences at University of California, Irvine and her Doctor of Pharmacy at Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY1 training at Stanford Health Care and is now completing further pharmacy training to specialize in the field of critical care. Her professional interests lie in surgical, trauma, and neuro ICUs. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Jung is an avid Sephora and Nordstrom shopper, enjoys binge-watching Friends and playing with her 2 Maltese puppies.

Dr. Michelle Chu received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco, after which she completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Sharp HealthCare in San Diego. Her professional interests in pharmacy informatics include clinical decision support and automation, and in her free time she enjoys traveling, swimming, and adding to her many lists of new hobbies to explore.

Kevin Mai, PharmD

Kevin Mai, PharmD

Dr. Kevin Mai received his PharmD from Western University of Health Sciences and received his Bachelors in Chemistry at University of California Irvine. He completed his PGY1 at Loma Linda University Health and received a teaching certificate with the Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. His current clinical interests lie in medication safety, solid organ transplant, and internal medicine. His long-term professional goal is to pursue academia. Other than pharmacy, Dr. Mai's personal hobbies include pin trading at Disneyland, writing spoken word poetry, modern dance, and serving as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America.

Reena Sail, PharmD

Dr. Reena Sail is originally from San Diego, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Toxicology from the University of California, Berkeley. She went on to receive her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University, College of Pharmacy-Glendale. She then completed her PGY1 training at Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ. She is currently pursuing further training as a PGY2 resident at Loma Linda to specialize in the field of hematology/oncology.  Her outside interests include traveling, hiking, shopping, trying new food/eating (especially desserts), and spending time with friends and family.

Courtney Holmes, PharmD

Dr. Courtney Holmes is originally from Beaverton, Oregon. She attended Santa Clara University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biology. She received her PharmD from Oregon State University and Oregon Health & Science University in 2018. After graduating pharmacy school, she completed her PGY-1 residency at UCHealth Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she discovered her passion for pediatric pharmacy. As the PGY-2 Pediatrics Resident, she is excited to explore a variety of areas within pediatric pharmacy, including critical care, infectious disease, and ambulatory care.  Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys traveling, photography, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and going to Disneyland.

Dr. Susie Park is originally from Columbia, MD. She attended University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in Baltimore, Maryland where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Afterwards, she completed her PGY-1 residency at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. Outside of pharmacy Susie enjoys cooking, exploring Southern California, and playing with her sister’s two rescue dogs.

Afterwards, he completed a PGY-1 residency at the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy in Hilo, HI. Outside of pharmacy, Garret enjoys exercising at the gym, playing basketball, going on many food adventures, and spending time with his family and friends.
