Pictured with Dr. Pinder are two Beninese Rotarians receiving a banner from the Redlands Rotary Club during a hospitality dinner. Benin is located on the west coast of Africa, to the west of Nigeria. Rotary International plays a key role in helping to eliminate polio around the world.

Jim Pinder, JD. MBA, director of development and assistant professor of pharmacy law in the School of Pharmacy, was named Rotarian of the Year by the Redlands Rotary Club on June 10, 2010.

As a member of Redlands Noon Rotary Club, Dr. Pinder participated in the 5th Annual West Africa Project Fair in Cotonou, Benin, in November 2009. This group of 47 Rotarians from across North America vaccinated 3,313 children against polio in rural villages. Dr. Pinder estimates he personally vaccinated 20 children.
