Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based course pharmacists should be able to:

  1. Explain the pathophysiological and therapeutic rationale for combining anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapies in select conditions
  2. Differentiate methods of adverse cardiovascular event and bleeding risk assessments in patients indicated for antithrombotic therapies
  3. Appraise current literature on the comparative risks and benefits associated with triple and dual antithrombotic therapy
  4. Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment recommendations for the management of patients receiving triple or dual antithrombotic therapy
  5. Implement strategies to reduce bleeding risk associated with antithrombotic therapies
